In Jamb recent Law it was enacted that any candidate that scored 250 and above should be given admission in to his choice of University to study his/her choice of course. But while a good number of candidates that applied for medicine and surgery, Nursing and Law do come out scoring 250 and above and still not allowed to study their course of choice is what we want to address here.

Everyone that have written Jamb before knows that Jamb questions are not easy to answer questions. One of the candidates that wrote Jamb 2020 told us when questioned about the nature of the exam that, "the people (JAMB) set the question as though we were advance students to writing Master's degree exam". This to show that Jamb questions are hard. And for one to have scored 250 which is (65%) such one desirable admission in his choice of course.

Here are some reasons why one could score high and still not give admission. Every University in Nigeria has its own carrying capacity. This means that school are being allocated the number of candidate to be admitted each section. Some schools admit as much as 350 into Medicine and Surgery, Nursing as well as Law. While others admit below 160 in a school year. In such institution your chances are slim, so visit your choice of University and ask questions.

Again, not only Jamb score is being considered for admission. 40 percent of admission is for merit. And another 40 for catchment areas. Using catchment areas, admission is based on state of origin. Catchment areas for state universities are mostly her local government areas. While that of the federal is looking at least educated state such as Ebonyi State, people from such states have more changes for admission than does with high number of educated persons.
