Interstate movement: Important announcement to all citizens and security agencies in the country
The Federal Government of Nigeria, under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari, placed a ban on interstate movement some months ago and it seems that ban may last longer than we think. The reason for the ban by the Federal Government was to help curb the spread of coronavirus in the country.
However, the Federal Government has insisted that the ban on interstate movement is still in place and citizens should take note of it as some of them think the ban on interstate movement is over. The Federal Government also urged security agencies not to slack in enforcing the order on interstate movement.
The Presidential Task Force Chairman and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, during a briefing on Monday, stated that the ban on interstate movement is still in place and he further asked security agencies should tighten their enforcement level. It looks like people are still traveling from one State to another and the security agents are not really doing much about it.
According to the Presidential Task Force Chairman, Boss Mustapha, while giving an update today, he stated that, "We also appeal to the security agents to enforce the ban on interstate travel very strictly."
What are your thoughts concerning the ban on interstate movement? Do you feel it should still go on?
