2020 ADMISSION: JAMB Announces Admission Date For 2020 Candidates With Other Guidelines To Follow.

As Nigeria Government together with the Federal Ministry Of Education in Nigeria plans to reopen schools, The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the date to begin the first and second window admission for 2020/2021 academic session.
The first window of admission will be opened on September 7, 2020 and October 4, 2020, as said by JAMB.
Institutions administering Post- UTME exercise could make use of this window as NABTEB would start soon, and run till 18th of November, 2020, when the second window of admission would be available.
However, institutions that do not plan to make is of the first window can schedule their Post-UTME screening exercise to hold during the second window period by which time, they should have released the results of the students who wrote the examinations to qualify for the exercise..
JAMB also stated that the admission deadline for this year will only be determined by the Federal Ministry Of Education, and will be communicated to all the institutions as the Pandemic in the country have made it impossible to fix a particular deadline.
This information is trying to tell us that schools, and JAMB will begin to grant admission to qualified candidates who have passes through the screening process of their respective institutions of choice from 7th of September, 2020.
Also, the JAMB boss, Oloyede stated that the admission exercise for the 2020/2021 Academic session would be conducted as usual on the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS), as it has been in the last three years.
The board has also warned schools against giving any candidates an illegal admission. Institutions are also reminded institutions, and the public that all forms of illegal and irregular admission have stopped as all admission into full time, Distance learning, Part-Time, Sandwich, and all others must be processed only through JAMB.
JAMB has also tasked the 3 higher Education regulatory bodies, The National Universities Commission (NUC), the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), and the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE), to collaborate with it to ensure full compliance with the guidelines.
